Main Bathroom
Synopsis
Our clients 1930’s family home is full of character in the front of the home and transforms into a modern extension in the family living spaces in the rear of the home and upstairs.
Design Brief
The homes extension was completed 20 plus years ago, the bathroom was dated and the floor plan was not very functional. Our clients’ teenage girls needed more storage, a walk in shower recess and a freestanding bath to soak in after sports. The finishes had to compliment the colour scheme of the rest of the home.
Design Statement
The shower over bath was removed. The floor plan was completely flipped around seeing the bath positioned under the window. This enabled the walk in shower recess to be larger in size than our client previously thought was possible and for the vanity to be positioned opposite the bathroom door thus creating a focal point when you walked into the room.
The terrazzo floor tiles tiled in perfectly with the homes’ black timber floorboards. The bathroom faces south-east, using white tiles kept the room light, the charcoal wall grout gave the white wall tiles a modern twist and a touch of interest.
