Perched high above the Yarra Valley, this architecturally designed home captures sweeping 180-degree views that reflect the creative spirit of its owners — artist Margaret and her husband Richard. Their vision for the bathroom was to transform a dated, bulky space into one that felt open, functional, and harmonious with the home’s architectural form.

The brief called for the removal of the built-in bath, a reconfigured layout featuring a freestanding bath and walk-in shower, improved vanity storage, and a design that celebrated the home’s bold geometry while remaining true to the architect’s original intent.

The home’s angled walls presented both a design challenge and an opportunity. By creating a defined wet zone for the freestanding bath and walk-in shower, Simply Bathroom Solutions achieved a layout that feels open and easy to maintain.
A 1600mm wall-mounted vanity with a stone benchtop offers generous storage and effortless access, while the vertical V12 grooves subtly reference the home’s exterior cladding. Curved, custom-made mirrored cabinets soften the strong architectural lines and are finished in a light metallic paint that captures and reflects the changing natural light.

This Yarra Valley bathroom renovation is a serene, sculptural retreat that balances function and artistry — perfectly complementing its spectacular hillside setting.
