Our client’s Kew property featured a dated 25-year-old bathroom with a small shower and built-in bath that lacked both function and inspiration. Having spent considerable time in Japan, the client wished to reimagine the space with subtle Japanese influences — a calm, refined sanctuary inspired by travel and culture.

The new design embraces Japanese elegance through the use of Kasai tiles, resembling aged timber with delicate cherry blossom accents scattered across the walls. Charcoal floor tiles ground the space, creating a balanced and tranquil aesthetic.

A back-to-wall corner bath tucks neatly into the layout, offering a generous bathing experience without the visual bulk of a traditional built-in bath. The black nuance cabinetry and Faucet Strommen chrome tapware bring cohesion and sophistication, completing a bathroom that feels both modern and timeless — a serene retreat within the home.
