Hawthorn East

In this Hawthorn East ensuite renovation, our clients loved the natural light and modern architecture of their new home but found the bathroom’s glass walls offered little privacy from the adjoining master bedroom. While the north-facing orientation provided beautiful light, the space lacked adequate storage and a sense of intimacy.

To create a more functional and private retreat, new walls were constructed to enclose the ensuite while maintaining a bright and airy feel. A spacious walk-in shower was introduced, featuring a black-framed fluted glass screen for texture, privacy, and contemporary elegance.

A freestanding bath was positioned beneath the north-facing window, taking advantage of the natural light and creating a tranquil focal point. The existing hydronic heated towel ladder was cleverly repurposed, adding warmth and sustainability to the design.

A generous wall-mounted double vanity with mirrored cabinets above provides ample eye-level storage, ensuring both practicality and visual balance. The soft, neutral colour palette and subtle feature tile along the north wall complete the transformation—resulting in a Melbourne ensuite renovation that feels both luxurious and deeply personal.
